A bookcase naturally fits this purpose, embodying any room, from a dining room to another gathering room for when the kids move out. The built-in beverage center reinforces this idea of gathering with space for easily accessible glassware and chilled drinks to entertain guests or treat your family to a special dinner.
Reimagine Lighting
Recessed bookshelves tend to create shadows that can obscure displayed items, but elaborate lighting can diminish the effect of the bookcase and the decor. To illuminate the bookshelf and allow the bookcase's design and accessories to shine on their own, the design team fixed simple vanity lights vertically in between each set of shelves to act as sconces.
Pops of Color
The 12' tall bookcase and built-in beverage center are stunning focal points, but they needed splashes of color to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere that illustrates the idea of gathering. They both feature a teal backsplash, a calming color that coordinates with the neutral tones throughout the home, tying into the colored tile in the scullery and the green cabinets in the kitchen.
