Mrs. Anderson's Porcelain Baking Pie Bird is to be used when you are baking meat and fruit pies to allow steam to escape and reduce spillage and prevent top crusts from sagging while the pie is baking. Made from porcelain, this fun bird design has a flat base that adds stability during use. The steam vents through the bird's beak to prevent your pie from bubbling over, while the top crust is supported by the bird's shoulders eliminating the possibility of a bowed crust. To use, simply place the bird at the center of the bottom crust, spoon in the filling, add top crust with a small hole so the bird can stick out, and pinch crust around the bird to seal it in. Allow the bird to cool before removing it from your pie. This bird is heat-safe up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. Measures 2 in. L. x 2 in. W. x 5.125 in. H.
