The Simpson Strong-Tie PPB66-4Z Porch Post Base 4 In. Depth is engineered to streamline the porch construction process by eliminating the need for temporary vertical supports. This one-time installation solution is designed to support permanent porch framing at all stages of construction, simplifying subcontractor scheduling and ensuring safety for installers and inspectors. Initially, the porch post base is secured to the footing using two Titen Turbo™ masonry screws during the porch roof framing stage. This allows the concrete contractor to complete the porch slab seamlessly later, without the need for temporary supports or requiring the framer to revisit the site after the concrete has set. The PPB66-4Z is robust enough to withstand vertical construction loads before being embedded in concrete, reliably supporting the weight of most framed porches and overhangs.
