Product Description

Woodpeckers ALDG-21 Auto-Line Drill Guide. Some people seem to be able to just magically drill a straight hole. Then, there's the other 99.9% of us. If you're not one of the 0.1%, and you want a straight hole in the middle of a large piece of plywood, or in an installed cabinet, or in anything you can't get to a drill press (or if you don't even have a drill press) you'll love Woodpeckers' Auto-Line Drill Guide.

The Auto-Line keeps your drill bit perfectly perpendicular to your work piece while you drill. A high quality 1/2" chuck rides on precision bearings. Just chuck your hand held drill on the standard hex shank and drill away. Drill has a stop collar to keep all your holes the same depth is also included. The tapered flat on the stop collar column makes it nearly impossible to knock it out of position.

And that's not all. This versatile base and fence system makes it simple to keep your hole locations right on target. Laser engraved centerlines on the perimeter of the base opening give you a perfect positioning reference. The base opening allows drilling holes up to 3/4" in diameter. Need larger holes? Swap the chuck carrier to the outside of the base and you can drill holes up to 2" in diameter.

Need to drill holes perfectly in the center of a board? Included reference pins will allow you to do just that in stock up to 3-1/8" wide. A vee-groove milled into the base lets you drill safely into round stock too.

To position the fence further from the edge, the fence can be adjusted along a pair of stainless-steel guide rods, which have been modified to accept extensions. The extensions have also been modified to accept extensions, so you can join them together as long as you want.

The fence has been designed so it can slide under the base for working close to an edge, or you can turn the fence around to get the maximum distance. When working on a narrow edge, position the fence so the broad face provides extra support. And, when you're not using the fence at all, turn it so the thin edge acts as an "outrigger" to improve stability. The base is drilled and tapped for the fence guide rods on all four edges. . . right, left, front or back . . . there's always a direction you can extend the fence. USA
