The Easy Start Rougher, from Easy Wood Tools, is one of several East Start tools that will give you a low cost introduction to turning the Easy Wood way. A bit smaller in size than Easy Wood's Mini Tools, Easy Start tools are perfect for smaller spindle and vessel turning projects, from pens to handles, bobs, or finials; to small bowls, cups, or goblets, and more.
The Rougher is used for making heavy cuts and outside curves. It is ideal for turning rough blanks down to working size, cutting tenon shoulders, and other similar tasks. It has a 9 inch long maple handle and a 3/8 inch x 3-1/2 inch black oxide coated blade, making the overall length 12-1/2". Maximum reach of the tool is 2". Uses a genuine EWT Ci2 replaceable mini square carbide cutter (#95321). USA
