For security, it has a tamper-proof lock that can be closed with a padlock or bolt through a hole in the link. This yard hydrant is constructed with a cast iron head and handle, and it has a 3/4-inch NPT (National Pipe Thread) inlet and a 1-inch galvanized steel pipe casting. The buried depth plus 24 inches determines the overall length of the hydrant, and it comes with a polyester powder-coated finish.
