The carbon block has millions of active sites within its surface that absorb contaminants like a sponge and keep some impurities on its surface like a magnet. Additionally, the filter can catalytically breakdown other water contaminants. This filter reduces pharmaceuticals, BPA, PFOA/PFOS, Lead, Cyst, chlorine, bad tastes, odors and over 70+ other contaminants. It is easy to install into refrigerators and is effective for up to 6 months.
