Sorby 5510 Boxwood Handled 5 Pc. Gilt Edge Chisel Set. Bevel edge chisels are the most versatile and widely used of all bench chisels and are the most absolutely essential of woodworking tools. Gilt Edge Chisels are refined chisel that have a more elegant bolster and ferrule design than the Traditional Bevel Edge. Available here in smooth handles of boxwood. They have 5-3/5" long blades and an overall length of 10-1/2".
Robert Sorby chisel blades are forged from a special alloy Sheffield steel that has a perfect balance of toughness, edge retention, and sharpness. Precision grinding ensures backs that are truly flat and bevels that are crisp and accurate. Each chisel is ground to a 20 degree bevel, with a 25 degree secondary bevel, then honed ready for use.
