Product Description
Eliminate splashes and drips when sharpening with this larger, re-designed Tormek Sharpening system trough. Utilizing an enlarged standard lip, along with a long tool water chute, and tilt shoes, the Advanced Water Trough (AWT-250) goes well beyond the standard tray to bring a much higher degree of water control to the Tormek Sharpening System.
The enlarged lip alone will go a long way to add water control, but the addition of the water chute greatly enhances this control for extra-long tools that drip water over the edge (like chef's knives and planer blades) by directing the water back into the trough.
The Tilt Shoes are placed under the honing wheel side of the machine to raise it so the water follows the tool towards the outside of the stone and runs back into the water trough. This minimizes water dripping onto the housing, which is an advantage, especially when sharpening wide tools. When not required they can be stored magnetically under the machine.
A strong magnet embedded in the trough keeps the stone clean and cutting more freely by removing free-floating steel particles which could otherwise become embedded in the stone and decrease its effectiveness. When cleaning the trough particles are easily wiped off the magnet with a paper towel or rag.
Fits Tormek T-8, T-7, Tormek 2000, and all older models with 250 mm (10") stone. Sweden
