Waterlox Original VOC Compliant Sealer & Semi-Gloss Wood Finish, 1 Gallon is a VOC compliant version of the classic Waterlox ORIGINAL formula, designed to provide a durable and protective finish for interior wood surfaces. This formula features 90% of its resin portion derived from renewable, natural resources, making it an environmentally conscious choice. When used with a Waterlox sealer, it penetrates deep into wood fibers to create a waterproof barrier while forming an elastic, durable film that withstands everyday household use and foot traffic. This finish is easier to maintain than other interior clear or surface finishes and becomes non-toxic once fully cured and dry. Handmade in Ohio by a fourth-generation, family-owned company, it is ideal for floors, windows, doors, cabinetry, woodwork, tables, furniture, bar tops, picture frames, and various woodworking projects. It also works well on porous interior surfaces like slate, brick, stone, tile, or cement to prevent chalking and dusting. The formula provides exceptional adhesion to oily, dense, exotic woods such as teak, rosewood, and ipe. Coverage is efficient, with one quart covering 125 square feet per coat. No thinning is required, and sanding between coats is optional for aesthetic purposes. Dry times vary depending on conditions, with a minimum of 24 hours between coats.
